Leila joined Gherson in August 2024. She is a Russian-qualified lawyer specialising in international arbitration and commercial litigation. She has worked on cases administered under ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, LMAA and SCC arbitration rules, advising major corporations, investors and private individuals in corporate disputes, investment treaty arbitrations and enforcement proceedings across multiple jurisdictions.

Leila has also acted in litigation proceedings before domestic and international courts, including the High Court of England and Wales and the European Court of Human Rights.

Notable Experience
  • Advising an IT company in a corporate dispute over the violation of restrictive covenants arising from a shareholders’ agreement in an LCIA arbitration.
  • Advising a private individual on strategies for pursuing a claim against a state for investment protection under a Bilateral Investment Treaty.
  • Representing a defendant in committal proceedings in the High Court for the breach of a freezing injunction.
  • Advising a major Kazakhstani maritime company in a dispute with a ship owner over a breached Bareboat Charter Agreement under LMAA rules.
