Rebekah Daniel

Rebekah joined Gherson in 2023. She is a qualified lawyer in India and has litigated on issues relating to caste reservation, arbitrariness in government tenders and fair compensation for land acquisitions.

She graduated from UCL with a Master’s degree in International Law in 2022. During her studies, Rebekah worked as a Researcher for the UCL Public International Law Pro-Bono Project, assisting in the drafting of a peace treaty.

Rebekah has conducted research on the extent of refugee protections in non-signatory states to the Refugee Convention, and has experience in International Criminal Law, Human Rights Law and Refugee Law.

  • Dealing with sanctions reporting and compliance.
  • Preparing complex applications seeking licensing permissions for sanctioned individuals to facilitate payments relating to their basic needs, prior obligations and legal fees.
  • Assisting with proceedings before the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC).
  • Working on naturalisation applications raising complex issues.
  • Assisting with human rights claims including those engaging Article 8 ECHR.
  • Working on asylum claims involving aspects of political persecution.
