UK Immigration
This visa only covers short-term courses, which take between 6 and 11 months to complete. The course provider must either hold a sponsor licence or be on the Home Office’s list of accredited institutions.
The applicant must be over the age of 16, however if they are under the age of 18 parents will need to provide consent. In addition, further documents will need to be provided with the application for students who are under 18.
The applicant will need to demonstrate that they have sufficient funds to support themselves without access to work or public funds in the UK. They will also need to pay the Immigration Health Surcharge.
If approved, the short-term study visa allows the applicant to come to the UK for the duration of their course, plus 30 days.
It is not possible to change your course once in the UK, extend the visa, or work. It is also not possible to bring dependants into the UK when on a short-term study visa.
