UK Immigration
In the past decade, there have been significant technological developments which now play a crucial role in our everyday lives. We have seen the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), self-driving cars, Blockchain technology and plenty more. The UK Government has recognised this steadily growing field and continues to operate the Global Talent visa for workers interested in coming to the UK as leaders in digital technology.
Applicants can apply for the UK Global Talent visa to work in the UK as leaders in digital technology through two routes:
Note that applicants in business roles from non-technical organisations are not eligible to apply.
All technical applicants must prove technical expertise with recent technologies varying from building, using, deploying or exploiting technology and contributing to the development of technical infrastructure. Some of the eligible roles include (but are not limited to):
Business-related applicants must prove their commercial, investment or product expertise in building technological products or leading investments in significant digital product businesses. Some of the skills required include (but are not limited to):

A leader must show:
A potential leader must show:
Where an applicant satisfies the skill-specific requirements, but is not in a position of leader or potential leader, their application will be refused.
Updates have been introduced to applications for the Work in the UK as a leader in digital technology route (Global Talent visa). On 4 August 2025, Tech Nation’s application form was removed and replaced by the Home Office Stage 1 Endorsement Form. This stage of the process allows an individual to apply for endorsement. Without this stage – and a successful endorsement – you will be not be eligible for this type of visa (unless you have won an eligible prize).
