Sponsor licence updates: National Insurance (NINO) numbers now required for level 1 users
From 19 June 2023, all new Level 1 Users being added to a Sponsor Licence will need to provide their National Insurance number (also known as a NINO). If the proposed Level 1 User does not have a NINO, they will need to provide a reason as to why they are exempt. Existing level 1 users may also be asked to provide the same information if they have not done so already on the sponsor licence portal.
All Sponsor Licences require at least one Level 1 User on the Sponsor Management System who is a UK-based employee, partner, director, or representative of your organisation.
A National Insurance number is a number issued by the UK’s Department of Work and Pensions to individuals for income tax purposes and for filing tax returns.
