Recent changes made to the Global Talent visa route

UK Immigration

The Global Talent visa is available to individuals who are considered to be exceptional in their field. It is for those who are highly skilled in the fields of humanities and social science, digital technology, architecture, fashion, film and television, and other arts.

The Home Office recently announced a number of changes to this visa route. Below we review some of these changes.

Endorsement

Endorsement criteria and evidential requirements have been modified for the Global Talent route according to feedback from the various endorsing bodies. Endorsing bodies can now take the entirety of the evidence submitted to them into consideration when making decisions. The required supporting documentation depends on the specific category applied under. Given the evidential complexities, we recommend that you seek legal advice on your own circumstances.

Changes in the prestigious prize list

Applicants who have personally won a prestigious prize in the world of arts and culture, science and engineering, film and TV, and fashion amongst other categories, can benefit from a fast-track Global Talent process. They can skip the application to the endorsing body and go straight to submitting their visa application to the UK authorities. The eligible prize lists have been updated, with some prizes having been renamed, and new ones having been included.
