Eliminating the race against the clock: priority services for Skilled Worker visas
Applying for a Skilled Worker visa can be time-sensitive.
Since you cannot submit an application earlier than three months before your intended start date, it may sometimes feel like time is not on your side. However, by meeting certain requirements and paying an additional fee, you may be eligible for priority services, which can reduce the processing time of your application to just 24 hours from the date of submission or attending your biometric appointment.
This fast-track option can eliminate the “race against the clock” and significantly reduce waiting times for a decision.
Applicants may be eligible for priority or super priority services depending on their location and individual circumstances. These services allow applicants to effectively “skip the queue” and receive a decision much faster than under standard processing times.
Dependants applying alongside the main applicant can also use the priority services, although this option is subject to availability.
Eligibility for a priority or super priority service depends on where you are applying from:
Please note that each applicant, including dependants, must pay the additional fee individually.
Applicants for Skilled Worker visas may receive a decision within:
One common misconception is that paying for a Priority or Super Priority service guarantees a successful outcome. This is not the case. Your application must still meet all of the Skilled Worker visa requirements. Failure to provide the correct documents or meet eligibility criteria can delay your application or lead to a refusal, regardless of the processing option you have chosen.
Additionally, more complex applications, such as those requiring further documentation, may take longer to process, even if submitted via a priority route.
While the Priority and Super Priority services offer a valuable option for expediting a Skilled Worker visa application, they are not a substitute for a well-prepared and fully compliant submission. Ensuring that you meet all the eligibility criteria and provide the correct documentation remains essential. If you are considering using a priority service, it is advisable to seek expert legal guidance to maximise your chances of a smooth and successful application.
