Can children come to the UK as visitors?

UK Immigration

A child visitor visa allows someone under the age of 18 to travel to the UK.

Those from countries that require physical visas need to apply for them before travel, those who do not require physical visas will need to explain and evidence their intentions at the UK border.

There are a number of requirements a visitor under the age of 18 needs to comply with, such as having written consent from the parent or guardian to travel to the UK if travelling alone, having made suitable arrangements for the travel and stay in the UK, having sufficient money for the trip and for the return journey.

Child Visitor Visa

Can a child under 18 travel to UK alone?

If the child is not travelling with a parent or legal guardian, that person must consent to the child’s travel to, reception and care in the UK. They will also need to provide their full contact details, as well as the full contact details of the person the child will be staying with in the UK. The requirements are stricter if the child is not staying with a close relative.
