UK Immigration
Most UK visa categories permit you to relocate to the UK with your dependant partner. Your dependant partner’s visa will be subject to various conditions depending on the visa type of the main applicant.
The general position is that partners are able to work full-time in the UK. Where full-time work is permitted, the partner will not need to be sponsored by their UK employer. There are also no restrictions on the type of job, skill level or salary required. Dependants can also be self-employed.
In some visa categories there is, however, a restriction on dependant partners taking up employment as a doctor or dentist in training, or as a professional sportsperson.
If you have any doubts about the specific conditions attached to your dependant partner’s visa, please seek advice.
