Valeriya Grebenkova
Valeriya specialises in state court litigation, international commercial and investor-state arbitration.
She represents individual clients and sovereign states in various investor-state arbitration fora including ICSID and PCA. In addition, Valeriya is actively involved as counsel in commercial arbitrations under major institutional rules including LCIA, ICC, SCC and ICAC (Moscow). She sits as an arbitrator in commercial arbitration disputes. She also represents both states and individuals in the European Court of Human Rights.
Investment arbitration:
• Representing an investor from an Eastern European state against Grand Duchy of Luxembourg in the dispute governed by UNCITRAL Rules.
• Represented an Eastern European state in ICSID investment arbitration proceedings connected to the alleged expropriation of real estate assets.
• Represented a CIS state in six investor-state disputes with a total value of circa $3 billion connected to expropriation and FET claims (in sectors including real estate, energy and infrastructure, aviation business and banking).
• Represented CIS states in set aside proceedings for arbitral awards rendered against them in investment arbitrations seated in the Netherlands, Switzerland and France.
• Represented a UK national in his dispute against an Eastern European government in ICSID proceedings.
