Ukraine Expands List Of Visa Free countries

03 Mar 2021, 00 mins ago

At a time when many countries have closed their borders to international travel due to COVID-19, Ukraine has, through its diplomatic efforts, expanded the number of countries Ukrainians can travel to without a visa.

As of 1 March 2021 a visa-free regime has been implemented with Grenada as well as Aruba and Curacao and three islands of the Caribbean Netherlands – Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba. From 1 March 2021, Ukrainians can travel to these countries without visas and stay there for up to 90 days every half-year.

British Citizen passport holders can enter Ukraine without a visa for visits of up to 90 days within a 180-day period. Ukraine has confirmed that this policy will continue to apply to British citizens until 30 January 2022. However, Ukrainians who wish to enter the UK will need to apply for a visit visa ahead of travelling to the UK.

It is known that the Home Office frequently refuses visit visas. Applicants applying for UK visit visas should therefore submit extensive supporting documents evidencing the purpose of their visit to the UK and their family, economic and social ties with their country of residence in order to demonstrate that they intend to depart the UK before their visa expires.
