BNO Visa Route Take-up: Update

The new BNO visa route opened on 31 January 2021 and over 5,000 applications have already been received. This new route is available to British National Overseas (“BNO”) citizens whose permanent home is in Hong Kong (if applying outside the UK) and who are 18 or older.

Oversea Visitors’ Records Office – Update

There is a requirement for certain foreign nationals to register with the police whilst they are resident in the UK and to keep such record up-to-date. For those residing in London, reporting usually takes place at the Overseas Visitors’ Records Office (“OVRO”).

Chancellor Announces New “Tech Visa”

The Chancellor, Rishi Sunak, has announced the Government will be introducing a new “Tech Visa” in a bid to bring overseas talent to the UK’s Financial Technology sector. It is believed that Tech Nation, who currently act as an endorsing body for the Global Talent visa scheme, will be sponsoring this new route.
