On 1 February 2021, the Russian Government extended its travel ban between Russian and the UK until 11:59pm on 16 February 2021.

The travel ban initially came into force on 21 December 2020 due to the discovery of a new strain of COVID-19 in the UK. Authorities in Russia decided to extend the suspension of flights in order to ensure the protection of public health. It is possible that this suspension of flights may be extended further depending on the epidemiological situation at the time. Please be aware, therefore, of the possible disruption to any future travel plans.

Russian visa application centres continue to operate amid the current flight restrictions at this time.

Passengers entering the UK will continue to be required to provide a negative PCR test result within 72 hours of their departure time. Upon arrival, all passengers are required fill out a passenger locator form at the border, and are subject to national lockdown and quarantine restrictions. Anyone arriving from the countries listed on the “red list” will be refused entry to the UK. British and Irish nationals, and those with residence rights in the UK will be allowed to enter.
