Civil Litigation and Arbitration

Areebah is a Paralegal in Gherson’s Civil Litigation and Arbitration Department, assisting with a broad range of complex and cross-border disputes. She supports the team on civil litigation and arbitration matters, including procedural drafting, case preparation, legal writing and research, and the management of court and arbitration filings.

Prior to joining Gherson, Areebah gained experience across a range of contentious, regulatory and commercial matters in both London and the Middle East. Her international background has provided her with exposure to cross-border legal issues, particularly in relation to dispute resolution, financial services and regulatory frameworks.

Areebah completed an LLM in Legal Practice (SQE1 & SQE2) at the University of Law. She passed both SQE assessments at her first sitting and was awarded a Distinction in her Master’s degree.

Notable Experience
  • Conducted research on international arbitration and jurisdictional issues during her time at one of Bahrain’s leading banks. Her research included the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards and the operation of specialist commercial courts across the Middle East (DIFC, ADGM, Bahrain);
  • Supported the Banking and Finance Department of an international top-tier law firm through legal research, drafting shareholder loan agreements, transaction management and assistance with financing documentation and deal completion processes;
  • Analysed legislative and regulatory developments affecting occupational pension schemes and financial institutions, translating complex legal requirements into practical guidance and training materials for leading banks in the UK.
