Legal Secretary

A secretary with a strong legal background is required to work alongside a group of enthusiastic professionals in our busy West End office. Duties will include correspondence with clients, counsel and the Home Office, preparation of immigration applications and bundles and general administration as required. In this role the secretary will work for a group of fee earners providing day to day support. This is a full time permanent role, with office hours of 9 am to 6 pm Monday to Friday. As some paid overtime, including occasional Saturday working, is anticipated we cannot accommodate candidates who are not able to meet these office hours.

The successful candidate:

  • Will have previous experience of having worked in a London legal environment.
  • Must have above average skills using a broad range of software packages in particular, must be familiar with working on Apple Mac.
  • Must be able to draft legal correspondence independently.
  • Will have a basic understanding of Solicitors Code of Conduct and Solicitors Accounts Rules.
  • Will have exceptional command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Must have good organisational and administrative skills.

This demands the highest level of skill and a strong work ethic, which pervades throughout the firm, including the support departments. Accounts Assistant

An exciting opportunity has risen for an enthusiastic, ambitious Accounts Assistant to join our busy accounts team. Daily duties will include: administration of the Purchase Ledger, preparing bills to our clients, entering expenses and monitoring the accounts inbox. This is a full time permanent role, with office hours of 9am till 6pm Monday to Friday.

The successful candidate:

  • Should have a desire to work in accounts
  • High attention to detail
  • Good organisational skills

General Immigration Solicitor 3-4 years plus PQE

Gherson have a vacancy for an experienced solicitor with a broad range of experience on Tier 1, Tier 2, EEA, Family and Nationality applications. The role would suit and enthusiastic team player able to balance a full caseload. Agencies need not apply.

 

Immigration Solicitor 2 years plus PQE

We would like to recruit an experienced immigration solicitor to our general immigration team. This is an opportunity for an enthusiastic solicitor to develop a busy caseload across a broad range of immigration work. Agencies need not apply.

 

Immigration Paralegals

We have a vacancy for a paralegal who has some experience of working in an immigration firm and is in a position to progress to a training contract in due course. The successful candidate must have:

  • Excellent academic qualifications,
  • Passed the LPC,
  • Exceptional English skills.

Fluency in other languages (Russian, Ukrainian, Portuguese) is an advantage. This role would suit an ambitious candidate who would like to specialise in immigration. Agencies need not apply.

 

Legal Assistant

Our sister firm, Discreet Law is recruiting for a legal assistant who is able to speak Mandarin.

This is a full time permanent position working at our offices in Marble Arch and salary is dependant on skills and experience.  The ideal candidate must have exceptional spoken English and be native Mandarin speaking, a legal background is not essential however experience of working in a busy commercial environment is. You will need to have a  sunny disposition,  a flexible approach to working hours and the ability to work alongside colleagues with different skills and interests.  A track record of good organisational skill is also important.
