When are UK immigration fees due to rise?

04 Sep 2023, 47 mins ago

On 13 July 2023, the UK Government announced that UK immigration fees were set to increase.

The Immigration Health Surcharge (IHS) is set to almost double with proposed rises from £624 to £1,035 per year for adults. IHS for Student, Child and Youth Mobility visa holders will increase from £470 to £776 per year.

The application fees for work and visit visas will rise by 15%, whilst fees for Student visas, Certificates of Sponsorship, Indefinite Leave to Remain, British citizenship, will rise by at least 20%.

Although the plans for the proposed increases have been announced, the changes have not yet been implemented. It is not entirely clear when these changes will take place, however it is anticipated to be from Autumn 2023.

Applicants and UK sponsors should therefore consider early applications in light of the planned rises; it could be helpful to take advantage of the current rates.
