UK Immigration
The reopening of the visa centre means that applicants who need to physically attend a biometrics appointment can now go ahead and book a slot. The submission of biometrics (fingerprints and a digital photo) is required for the majority of UK visa applications. The centre was closed in February last year, which made applying for a UK visa very difficult for those living in the vicinity.
Ukrainian nationals who do not have a valid Ukrainian international passport or hold an expired Ukrainian passport with an official passport extension stamp endorsed by the Ukrainian government would have to provide their biometric information at a Visa Application Centre in person.
You will be able to keep your passport after submitting your biometrics.
The Kyiv visa application centre is scheduled to operate from Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 16:00. Only a limited number of appointments is available per day, and the centre may need to close at short notice for security reasons or because of unscheduled power cuts.
Unfortunately, you cannot get your visa placed in your passport in Kyiv. Once you have received the decision on your application, you will need to travel to the visa application centre in Warsaw, Poland, to receive it.
