Update: Overseas Visitors’ Records Office (OVRO) Online Portal

13 Apr 2021, 36 mins ago

Following the OVRO’s recent launch of its new online registration portal, which went live on 7 April 2021, please see below for some important updates and clarifications.

The new online portal is for individuals who reside within London and the City of London area, as opposed to those who only work or study within the London and City of London area. The online portal does not replace the requirement for individuals to follow the usual process of attending the OVRO and being issued with a paper Police Registration Certificate (PRC), as this is a national procedure.

Those individuals living in other parts of the UK are advised to check the website of the police force for the area in which they reside. There are just over 20 police forces who use the same online portal, but anyone who initially registered using the OVRO portal and subsequently moves to another police force area would need to register with that police force or make relevant enquires with the police force covering their area.

Likewise, if you have registered with another police force and move to reside in the London or City of London area, you must create an account on the OVRO’s online portal.
