The United Kingdom has established multiple Youth Mobility Schemes which allow a young person from multiple participating countries to experience life in the United Kingdom and work without sponsorship. In this blog, we explore Young Professional Scheme for Indian nationals, part of the UK-India Mobility and Migration Partnership.

The UK Home Office has announced that the India Young Professional Scheme ballot for will open at 13:30 Indian Standard time on 16 July 2024 and close at 13:30 India Standard Time on 18 July 2024.

The ballot is open to Indian nationals between 18-30 years old, who have earned a bachelor’s degree level or above, have savings of at least GBP 2,530. Applicants must not have dependents under the age of 18.

The 2024 quota for this Scheme is 3,000 places, however most spots were allocated in the first ballot in February 2024. The remaining places will be allocated in this July ballot.

Entering the ballot is free, however there is a GBP 298 fee to apply for the Scheme. If you are interested in entering the ballot, apply online.

The UK offers great opportunities for your career, depending on your field of expertise. If you are successful in the ballot and gain a visa, this visa route permits you to gain work experience in the UK, giving you exposure to UK employers who may wish to sponsor you as a skilled worker at some point in the future. You may also be able to switch to other visa routes, depending on your specific  circumstances.

Don’t miss out on this chance to experience the UK. Mark your diaries and prepare your applications today!
