Gherson contributes to Chambers Global Practice Guide: International Arbitration 2026

Gherson Solicitors LLP has contributed the UK chapter to
the Chambers Global Practice Guide: International Arbitration 2026.

The chapter is authored by Roger Gherson, Emma Anderson, Cong Gao, Elizaveta Rachkova and Galiya Mustafina and provides an overview of the legal and practical framework governing international arbitration in England and Wales. Amalia Gherson and Joe Levtov provided their valuable insights to finalise the Guide.

The guide examines key aspects of arbitration practice, including the prevalence of arbitration in the UK, arbitration agreements, arbitral tribunals, jurisdiction, interim relief, procedure and evidence, confidentiality, awards, challenges and enforcemens as well as third-party funding and consolidation.

It also considers the impact of recent reforms introduced by the Arbitration Act 2025, including changes relating to the law governing arbitration agreements, arbitrator disclosure, summary disposal, jurisdictional challenges and emergency arbitrators.

London continues to hold a leading position in international arbitration. The guide notes that London was ranked as the world’s single most preferred seat in the 2025 Queen Mary University of London/White & Case International Arbitration Survey, selected by 34% of approximately 2,400 respondents globally.
