From risk to reward – how to effectively incentivise whistleblowers | Published by Financial Regulation International
Whistleblowers are increasingly being recognised as a key asset in tackling financial crime. In recent months, UK authorities have taken clear steps toward rewarding individuals who come forward with valuable intelligence. HMRC’s formal scheme for tax-related disclosures, launched in March 2025, was quickly followed by the Serious Fraud Office’s pledge to prioritise whistleblower reward reform over the next year.
