In its recent ‘strategy statement’, the Home Office mostly covered legal migration and economic migrants, including broad stroke projections and some more specific measures such as Electronic Travel Authorisation and digitisation of the UK border.

EEA nationals are being denied entry to the UK – why so?

With post-Brexit rules being in force as of 1 January 2021, there have been reports that growing numbers of EU nationals are being turned away at Britain’s borders. This is because unless they hold a status under the EU Settlement Scheme or a valid visa under the Immigration Rules, they are only permitted to seek entry as visitors for up to 6 months at a time.

We discuss this new phenomenon and the requirements for EU nationals as visitors in the UK.
